The in-game chat is global and the same for all players.

The are 3 sections of the global chat general, private and clan.

In the general section you can chat with anyone who is online.

In the private section you can only view private messages.

In the clan section you can send and view messages only your clan members can see.

There are many commands you can use, type the '/help' command in-game to learn more about them.
